### Universal Facility System (UFS)

### Platform Introduction and Landing Page User Guide

A simple, visual, and practical guide to understanding UFS, discovering people and Facilities, opening public pages, and starting conversations

### The Core UFS Message

UFS is an intelligent business operating infrastructure for service-based businesses - a platform that connects business information, public presence, people, operations, discovery, and relationships around one shared model.

Universal Facility System (UFS) | User Guide

## 1. What Is UFS?

UFS, or Universal Facility System, is an integrated platform for service-based businesses, individuals, and the connections between them. Instead of adding another isolated application to a business software stack, UFS brings important parts of the business experience together within a shared, consistent, and expandable operating infrastructure.

In many small businesses, information is split between separate tools for websites, employees, scheduling, customer interaction, documents, public visibility, and specialized workflows. UFS is designed to reduce that fragmentation and repeated data entry.

### UFS Philosophy

Enterprise capability without enterprise burden: professional business capabilities in a form that is simpler and more practical for small and medium-sized service businesses.

## 2. Why Is UFS Different?

UFS follows a Business First philosophy. Core business information is defined once, then reused by public presence, discovery, relationships, operations, and future capabilities. The same source of truth supports multiple experiences without rebuilding the same business data.

## 3. What Exactly Is a Facility in UFS?

A Facility is the operational identity of a business or business location within UFS. It is not simply a building, an address, or a public profile page. It connects category, services, Locations, contact information, brand, public presence, people, team members, work activities, schedules, permissions, documents, and category- specific capabilities.

### Facility vs. Location

A Facility is the operational identity of the business. A Location is a physical or service location. One Facility can organize one or more Locations while keeping business identity, services, people, and public presence connected.

## 4. Three Core Experience Areas in UFS

| Personal - personal/professional identity, proflies,<br>relationships and individual experience. | Facility - business workspace for operations, services,<br>team, Locations and public presence. |
| --- | --- |
| Connected - discovery, public pages, chat and<br>relationship pathways. | Category-Aware - terminology, filters and capabilities<br>adapt to the business category. |

## 5. What Is the Role of the Landing Page?

The Landing Page is the first point of contact for many users. It introduces UFS, lets the visitor choose relevant categories, discover people or Facilities, review results on the directory and map, open public pages, and start conversations without forcing the visitor to leave the page.

### Updated Landing Page Journey

Understand UFS -> choose your area -> use Public Discovery -> review users and Facilities -> optionally Show Map -> expand a user -> open a public page or start chat -> sign in/create an account when ongoing account features are needed.

## 6. Hero Section: The First Introduction to UFS

The Hero section presents the core UFS message, examples of different service categories, and clear paths to Login or Create account. Visitors who only want to discover businesses or people can continue without signing in.

## 7. Category Mode: Tailor the Experience to Your Needs Category Mode lets the user focus discovery on the business areas most relevant to them. One or more Categories can be selected, and the active selection changes terminology and filters without turning UFS into disconnected products.

## 8. Public Discovery: Find a Facility or Person

Public Discovery can be used before creating an account. It supports location-based discovery and direct search using public information.

- Find by My Location: enter an address, city, or postal code, or choose browser location; select a radius;
then choose Find nearby.
- Find by Search: search by Address, City, Postal Code, Facility, Username, Preferred Name, or Email.
- Browser location is optional; a manual location can be entered instead.

## 9. Results, Directory, and Show Map

Public Discovery directory with user cards, expand control, chat button, public-page button, and Show Map.

The directory is the primary action area for reviewing discovered users and the Facilities connected to them. A result summary shows users, Facility locations, radius, search center, and address/postal-code filter. The map can be opened with Show Map when geographic context is useful.

- Select Show Map to load the interactive map and see available Facility locations visually.
- The directory remains available beside the map so you can move between map context and actionable
result cards.
- A user card can show display name, username, public email/address when available, privacy state, and the
number of connected public Facilities.
- Selecting a Facility card can focus the matching Facility/map location.

### Why Show Map?

The map opens intentionally on demand. You can first review the directory, then activate the geographic view only when it helps you compare locations.

## 10. Connect with a User or Facility from Public Discovery Public Discovery is not only a search list. It is also a connection layer. From the same result directory you can start a conversation with a person, open that person’s public page, expand the person to see their Facilities, chat with a Facility, or open the Facility public page.

### 10.1 Chat Directly with a User

- Find the person in the result directory.

Universal Facility System (UFS) | User Guide

- Select the chat-bubble icon on the user row.
- If you are signed in, UFS opens the direct user conversation in the account communication experience and
the conversation can remain associated with your UFS account.
- If you are a guest, UFS opens a temporary chat panel and asks for First name, Last name, and Email before
the conversation begins.
- The guest panel clearly states that guest chat is temporary and disappears when the session ends. The
Login link is available for users who want account-based conversation history.

Guest user chat panel opened from a Public Discovery user result.

### 10.2 Open a User Public Page

Use the globe icon beside the user to open the user’s published Personal Public Page. This lets you review the public information that the person has chosen to publish. If the person does not have a published public page, the globe action is unavailable/disabled.

### 10.3 Expand a User to See Their Facilities

Select the chevron/expand control at the left of a user result. UFS expands that user row and lists the public Facilities associated with that person. Each Facility entry can show the Facility name, Location label, Category, and public address.

### 10.4 Chat with a Facility

Inside the expanded Facility list, select the chat icon for the Facility. The conversation is targeted to that Facility communication channel so the appropriate authorized Facility staff/administrator can respond. For a signed-in UFS user, the Facility conversation opens through the account communication system. For a guest, the same temporary-chat identity form is used and a separate temporary session is maintained for the selected Facility.

Universal Facility System (UFS) | User Guide

### 10.5 Open a Facility Public Page

Select the globe icon beside a Facility to open that Facility’s public page. This is the public-facing business page and may include the Facility’s identity, category, services, Locations, contact information, brand, and other content that the Facility has published.

### Two Levels of Connection

User level: chat with the person or open the person’s public page. Facility level: expand the person, choose a Facility, then chat with the Facility or open the Facility public page. These are separate actions because a person and a Facility are connected but distinct UFS identities.

### 10.6 What the Icons Mean

| Chevron / Expand | Show or hide the selected user’s public Facilities. |
| --- | --- |
| Chat bubble | Start a direct conversation with the selected user or<br>Facility. |
| Globe | Open the published public page for the selected user or<br>Facility. |
| Show Map | Open the interactive map to review Facility locations<br>geographically. |

### 10.7 Guest Chat vs. Signed-In Chat

| Guest visitor | Provides First name, Last name and Email. The<br>conversation is temporary for the current session and<br>is not presented as stored account history. |
| --- | --- |
| Signed-in UFS user | The chat opens through the UFS communication<br>experience and is associated with the signed-in<br>account/conversation system. |

## 11. Three Simple Ways to Get Started

### If You Are Looking for a Facility, Service, or Person 1. Select the Category that matches your need. 2. Use Find by My Location or Find by Search. 3. Review the result directory and open Show Map when location context is useful. 4. Use the user chat/globe actions, or expand the user to review Facilities. 5. For a Facility, select chat to contact the Facility or select the globe to open its public page.

### If You Own or Manage a Business

6. Create an account or sign in. 7. Define your Facility as the operational identity of your business. 8. Complete Locations, services, contact information, brand, public information and communication responsibilities. 9. Publish the appropriate public information so people can discover and connect with the Facility.

## 12. What Are You Really Defining When You Create a Facility?

You are defining the business itself - not merely a web page. The same Facility identity can support public pages, discovery, conversations, Locations, services, team information, and future operational workflows.

## 13. The Role of AI in the UFS Journey

UFS is designed to evolve AI into a Business Assistant: helping users describe their business naturally, structure information, prepare forms, understand category needs, and configure the platform while keeping final decisions and approvals with the user.

## 14. What Types of Businesses Is UFS Designed For?

| Daycare and Education Services | Public presence, team, Location, communication and<br>category-specific capabilities. |
| --- | --- |
| Mechanic and Automotive Services | Services, technicians, Location, public presence and<br>repair-related workflows. |
| Salon, Fitness and Wellness | Services, team, public presence, customer interaction<br>and specialized capabilities. |
| Clinic and Professional Ofcfi e | Professional services, team members, Location, public<br>trust and interaction pathways. |
| Restaurant and Food Service | Identity, Location, hours, services and evolving<br>category capabilities. |
| Training Centre and Other Services | A shared business core with specialized experiences by<br>Category. |

## 15. Sign In and Create an Account

Public discovery and temporary guest conversation can be used without an account. Sign in or create an account when you want ongoing account-based conversations, profile management, Facility creation/management, Personal workspace features, or other management capabilities.

## 16. Information Control, Privacy, and Communication

- Public Discovery and public pages show information intended for public visibility; internal/management
information remains role- and permission-based.
- Browser location is optional.
- A user public-page action is available only when that person has a published page.
- Guest chat is temporary. Signing in provides the account-based communication experience.
- A Facility chat targets the selected Facility conversation, while a user chat targets the selected person
directly.

## 17. Quick Guide for Your First Use

10. Review the Landing Page and understand Personal, Facility and Connected.
11. Select relevant Categories.
12. Use Public Discovery to find a person or Facility.
13. Review the directory; use Show Map when useful.
14. To contact a person, select their chat icon. To learn more, select their globe/public-page icon.
15. Expand a user to see associated Facilities. Use a Facility chat icon to contact that Facility or the globe to open its public page. 16. Sign in or create an account when you want persistent account features and ongoing UFS relationships.

## 18. The Landing Page Is Only the Starting Point

The Landing Page is a simple introduction to a larger connected model. It does more than advertise UFS: it lets a visitor discover, inspect, and begin a relationship with people and Facilities. A Facility remains the operational identity of a business, while Public Discovery provides the connection paths that lead to its people, public presence, and conversations.

### Summary

Find -> review -> map -> expand -> chat -> public page -> connect. UFS uses the Landing Page as a practical gateway from discovery to real interaction with people and Facilities.
